Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief, Chirag Paswan, took oath as a union minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government on Sunday. Paswan thanked PM Modi for trusting him.
LJP (Ram Vilas) Chief Chirag Paswan, after his swearing-in as the Union Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government on Sunday, said, he will fulfil the responsibility with full honesty and hard work. Paswan thanked PM Modi for trusting him.

“This is a huge responsibility for me… I will ensure that I fulfil this responsibility with full honesty and hard work… The credit for this goes to the Prime Minister. He had so much faith in a party with a single MP and gave it 5 seats… I have also given them all 5 seats by winning them..,” Chirag Pawan was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.

“In the last 10 years, the govt has given priority to schemes related to the welfare of the poor. We will move ahead with that thinking to reduce the difference between the rich and the poor, and villages and towns,” he added.

Chirag Paswan secured a resounding victory in the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency of Bihar, winning by more than 170,000 votes over RJD’s Shiv Chandra Ram.

In addition to Chirag Paswan, Prime Minister Modi has included seven MPs from Bihar in his council of ministers. Four of these are from allied parties, a strategy perceived as the BJP’s effort to address the caste dynamics ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.The inclusion of these MPs in the council of ministers is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the BJP’s position in Bihar and ensure a diverse representation of the state’s various communities in the government. With the assembly elections approaching, the BJP is working to solidify its support base and consolidate its alliances to secure a strong position in the state.

Both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have received considerable representation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s revamped council of ministers, with the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra also seeing notable inclusion, as reported by the news agency PTI.

Uttar Pradesh, which contributes the highest number of members, 80, to the Lok Sabha, has been allocated nine ministerial positions, including one Cabinet post. Meanwhile, Bihar has secured four Cabinet positions out of the eight ministerial roles assigned to the state.
